From classroom to courtroom, the Impact Litigation Lab brings together students, lawyers, and advocates to we explore how law, research, and innovation can transform the pursuit of justice for victims worldwide.

At the crossroads of teaching, research, and action — the Impact Litigation Lab connects Sciences Po Paris, Amnesty France, the American University of Paris Justice Lab and global partners to advance justice through impact. The Lab is a space for experimentation, reflection, and dialogue, rooted in the mission of Impact Litigation.

The Victims Rights International Justice Journal is one of the Lab’s central projects.

Created with Sciences Po students from the "Human Rights and Humanitarian Action" masters, it serves as a platform for critical reflection and collaborative research on victims’ rights, accountability, and transitional justice.

Recent contributions have explored topics such as:

  • The evolving role of victims before the International Criminal Court;

  • Justice mechanisms for survivors of gender-based violence in conflict zones;

  • The limits of reparations in post-authoritarian societies;

  • The use of digital evidence in documenting war crimes.

Through these interviews, the Journal amplifies diverse voices and emerging perspectives, encouraging dialogue across legal, academic, and advocacy communities.

The Impact podcast extends this dialogue beyond the written word.

Also born from the Sciences Po class, it brings together lawyers, researchers, survivors, and students to reflect on how justice is experienced and enacted in the real world.

Recent episodes have examined:

  • The situation in detention camps in North-East Syria

  • The Special Criminal Court in the Central African Republic

  • The status of children born of sexual anglais gender based crimes under international criminal law

Through these conversations, Impact gives life to the ideas explored in the Lab — connecting theory to lived experience.
